Castle Rock is the southern edge of our regular map. The elevation and the wind are harder on equipment than people moving down from Denver expect, which is why we see more short-cycling and outdoor-unit damage here.
The Meadows and Founders Village have a lot of 1990s and 2000s systems hitting replacement age. Crystal Valley and Castle Pines add longer hillside runs and more two-system houses.
Castle Rock is higher and gustier. Outdoor units ice earlier in shoulder season, and furnaces work longer nights. We set heat-pump and dual-fuel controls differently here than we do in Centennial.
Many Meadows homes have unfinished or later-finished basements that the original system never really served. Castle Pines houses are larger and often already have two systems. We treat those as two jobs, not one oversized unit.
Castle Rock repair calls are often a furnace that will not hold a call for heat, an outdoor fan that seized after a dust storm, or a condensate line that froze overnight.
We do not copy the old tonnage on a Castle Rock replacement without checking the envelope and the ducts. Altitude changes capacity. A system that was "fine" in 2004 can be wrong now that the basement is a living room.
Spring coil cleaning matters more here because of wind-blown grit. Fall service should include heat-exchanger and vent checks before the first real cold week.
